Hardwood Timber Doors
We use only sustainably harvested hardwood, and offer you a range based on your intended usage and colour preferences. Density and hardness are particularly important for both fire rating and weather hardiness, and overall wear and tear.
We use Forest Stewardship Council® certified Australian native hardwoods from kiln dried furniture grade timber. The timber is either Class 1 or Class 2, providing durability, suitable for outdoors or indoors, and meets fire rating 99 standards. Our Timbers typically have a Strength Group rating of SD2 and SD3.
- Class 1 – highest durability. This timber is projected to last for 50+ years in a fully protected area and 50+ years outside above the ground.
- Class 2 timber also lasts for 50+ years inside and fully protected. Used outside above ground, life expectancy is 30+ years.
The timbers we normally use include:
- Victorian Ash
- Merbau (Kwila)
- River Red Gum
- Red Ironbark
- Silver Top Ash
- Spotted Gum
